Attention: The security zone of the main gas pipeline!

Your property may be relocated or demolished by court order.

It is, unfortunately, not uncommon to not comply with the current urban planning standards of Uzbekistan when placing land plots for sale on the e-auksion platform fr om the area related to the protected zone of main gas pipelines. Often, when allocating land plots to economic entities, or when carrying out construction work, the security zone of main gas pipelines is not taken into account, structures and objects, residential buildings are erected without complying with urban planning standards.

As of July 1, 2022, the total number of identified illegal buildings in the protected zones of gas pipelines administered by Uztransgaz JSC amounted to 2,432. So far, 1,974 lawsuits have been filed with the courts of the respective regions to take legal action, that is, to demolish structures constructed without the appropriate permission of gas network enterprises. Based on claims, decisions were made to demolish 798 buildings. Lawsuits are being prepared in another 458 cases. With regard to practical results, following the completion of all legal proceedings and the execution of court decisions, 144 illegally erected constructions were relocated.

If we consider the structures erected in the buffer zone of main gas pipelines by regions, then the largest number of such constructions falls on the Bukhara region. There are 601 buildings and other types of structures in the protected zone of main gas pipelines. The second place is taken by the Tashkent region, wh ere 353 structures were built in the buffer zone of the main gas pipelines. In the Jizzakh region, which ranks third in the table, there are 348 buildings in the protected zone of main gas pipelines.

1,974 lawsuits were filed in court to move these structures, of which 798 were satisfied. To date, documents are being prepared for filing lawsuits for another 458 constructions.

As of July 1, 2022, 144 objects were relocated outside the protected zone of the main pipelines.

Today Uztransgaz JSC operates about 13,200 km of main gas pipelines. Pipe diameter varies from 159 mm to 1,420 mm, working pressure of pipelines from 25 kg/sq. cm to 55 kg/sq. cm.

On both sides of the main gas pipelines, security zones, established depending on the diameter of the gas pipeline, are operating, and it is dangerous to construct buildings and structures in these territories!

We remind you that the “Construction Norms and Rules” of the Republic of Uzbekistan is a regulatory document, and according to it, “security zones” are established around the main gas networks, depending on the diameter of the gas pipeline.

According to the document:

• the security zone of main gas pipelines with a diameter of 1,200 mm to 1,400 mm is 350 meters on both sides of the gas pipeline axis;

• the security zone of main gas pipelines with a diameter of 1,000 mm to 1,200 mm is 300 meters on both sides of the gas pipeline axis;

• the security zone of main gas pipelines with a diameter of 800 mm to 1,000 mm is 250 meters on both sides of the gas pipeline axis;

• the security zone of main gas pipelines with a diameter of 600 mm to 800 mm is 200 meters on both sides of the gas pipeline axis;

• the security zone of main gas pipelines with a diameter of 300 mm to 600 mm is 150 meters on both sides of the gas pipeline axis;

• the security zone of main gas pipelines with a diameter of 300 mm or less is 100 meters on both sides of the gas pipeline axis;

In connection with the above, JSC Uztransgaz calls on the officials authorized to allocate land and put up land plots for sale on electronic trading platforms, consult with regional divisions of main gas pipelines, and business entities and citizens – to obtain permissions and conclusions of local departments of main gas pipelines in the prescribed manner before the start of construction work.
